Principal's Welcome
Dear Parents and Families,
On behalf of our faculty and staff, I wish to welcome you to the Greeley Family. Founded in 1912, Greeley is the oldest school in Winnetka—a testament not only to its strong structure and foundation, but also the foundation of meaningful, experiential learning upon which the Winnetka Public Schools are built. For more than a century, Greeley has provided challenging, memorable, and engaging learning opportunities that foster the natural curiosity and love of learning within each child.
Each new school year marks an important milestone in a child’s life. Greeley teachers honor these milestones by offering significant and developmentally appropriate experiences at every grade level, from the kindergarten butterfly migration to the 4th grade immigration experience.
Additionally, both strong communication with families and parental involvement are essential elements of Greeley School. Families receive weekly communication from the principal’s office in addition to the information and updates provided by teachers. Other opportunities for parental involvement include Go-to-School Night, school “sings,” conferences, various volunteer opportunities, and our dedicated Parent Teacher Organization.
And, just as the structure of Greeley has changed with additions and remodeling projects over the years, the Greeley faculty and staff are committed to providing 21st century learning opportunities while continuing the tradition of providing a relevant and robust educational experience.
I am eager to establish connections with Greeley families as we work together to provide an exceptional education for your children.
Most Sincerely,
Joshua Swanner
Principal
